frequently asked questions

What are your hours?

Daytime and evening appointments are scheduled Mondays through Thursdays. We do not accept walk-in or weekend appointments and we are closed on holidays.  

Do you offer teletherapy appointments?

While we prefer and believe in the benefits of in-person therapy, we recognize that the convenience of teletherapy has created greater accessibility for many people and we do offer teletherapy for clients as clinically appropriate.

Do you work with young children?

We provided counseling for young people ages 14 and up.  For younger children, we recommend seeking a Child Psychologist or Therapist specialized in working with children, including those certified as a Child-Centered Play Therapist or Registered Play Therapist.

What insurances do you participate with?

We are in-network providers with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield (and other BCBS PPO plans), Highmark Health Options, Delaware First Health and Amerihealth Caritas, the 3 Delaware Medicaid plans. Note that we are not Medicare providers. For those with other insurance plans, a self-pay arrangement is made and we can provide a statement for clients to submit for out-of-network reimbursement as available through their plan.

How long are sessions?

Individual therapy sessions are scheduled for approximately 55 minutes. 

Do you prescribe medication?

We do not prescribe medication in our office but can provide referral information for local Psychiatrists or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners who can assess, prescribe and monitor medications when recommended.

Do you offer court-ordered evaluations or counseling?

We do not provide court-ordered services. For those anticipating a need for court documentation or testimony, we recommend obtaining the services of a Forensic Psychologist, Evaluator, or certified Expert Witness.
